However concreted over it may be, we still live on the land of Planet Earth. And however well wrapped in plastic and sanitised it may be, all our food comes from our Mother Earth.

Trust & Innocence – The past is the wellspring of the present and holds both the gifts and the burdens we carry forward in our lives.
While the cardinal directions are the holders of energy, the non-cardinals are the ‘movers’, the directions that give us the power to become movers of our own wheel of life. This course takes us to the power places.
We cross the wheel from Southeast to Northwest following the road from our ancestry and history. We move from childhood across to adulthood and responsibility for our Self. The function of the Northwest is to develop mindfulness of the rhythms and cycles of life and the web of cause and effect that shapes the future.
I call the work contemporary shamanism because whilst it is based on the teaching of the ancient shamans – the “wise ones” and visionaries of the old cultures – it is nevertheless modern in approach and deals with the issues and difficulties of contemporary life. Shamanism has always been a non-dogmatic, adaptable set of philosophies, attitudes and pragmatic solutions as it has always responded to the needs of the people of the time.
Shamanism is a path to wisdom which is gained through experience of many facets of life, through rituals, ceremonies, prayer and meditation, trials and tests. It is not a belief system, it is a way of knowledge – that which is known from inside – that which stands up to tests and to the test of time, something that is proven to work, unlike beliefs which are something taken on from outside and not personally tested in the laboratory of life.
In Module 3 we move to access our sacred ‘dream of life’, the life we deeply seek to lead, transforming our self into an active mover, co-creating our future.
The function of the Northeast is to make certain that all the voices are heard and to call for the vitality and the energy of enthusiasm among the people.

To help people connect their inner and outer worlds, to heal old wounds within, to enable us to bring dreams from the world of spirit into matter and thus enjoy a creative and fruitful life, to ‘dance their dreams awake’.

Maps of the Universe
When we go somewhere new, the first thing we usually do is check a map to help in plotting our course. But have you ever had a map of life? I didn’t until I discovered the Medicine Wheel – and what an extraordinary blessing it has been!
